They cannot be taken as separate subjects when one is studying professional photography. Want to be a skilled photographer or be a regular photographer; you have to be very talented to keep pace with this changing world. If you are skilled and a top notch photographer you must also be a professional editor. With these simple tips focused on photo editing you can experience your editing skills on the next level. The main photo editing programs that come first in the mind of every editor are adobe camera raw, Photoshop and lightroom. These are at the top of list when they are concerned about post processing. So without any delay let’s start with the list of Photo Editing Tips for Professional Photos.

The first tip that will be quite usefully for you is about the shortcuts. Various shortcuts are available with every program that not only makes your work simple but also provides better command on it. The shortcut to know is always important for having perfection in editing work. The most used tool like holding H can be used for zooming. The other important shortcut for your work is holding the space-bar that will provide switch temporarily to the hand tool that will be helpful to drag the image.

2. STYLIZING PHOTOS

If you are the one who is interested in giving more classy, more polished looks to your photos then you must have to follow these simple steps:

  • First step starts with uploading of photo in the photo shop for adjusting brightness and contrast panel.
  • After opening the image, adjust the brightness, contrast, and saturation as per your requirement.
  • Here make adjustment for curve layer.
  • Select first the red color and drag it down a little center of the red line.
  • Now focus on blue line and take it upward.
  • Now set up the green one by moving little up
  • At the select the soft light blending mode for blending it up.

To finish just add two solid color adjustments layers. First can be yellow, and after setting its opacity type ‘foooff’ for the second color. Select blending mode and opacity to 30%

3. CREATE INTENSE SKIES

If you are creating a sky then create it more vivid as you can. For this you have to select the luminance and after that drag the blue slider to darken the sky. Slider is placed in the left side. It is reminded not to overuse it otherwise the edges and other objects will invade the sky. You can also opt for HSL option to give contrast between blue sky and cloudy one. Various other techniques are also available which includes clarity boosting, digital graduated filter, saturation etc. which you can apply as per your understanding. Targeted adjustment toolbar is also a nice tool helpful for darken areas. You can take it either from ACR toolbar or from top of HCL.

4. SPEEDING UP SIMPLE TASKS

This is the tip which you should learn at least for simple task. Sometimes you only have to do simple editing to photos and you take couple of hours. That will look unprofessional so you have to speed up the process of opening, editing, saving in a way that it becomes effortless. Make your work flow that is one important key to success.

5. Try preset settings

This is the tip which emphasizes you to experiment on preset settings. This will sometimes work more effective. For this you have to use the preset panel which will get after clicking develop module on the left side of the interface. Various colors present will be excellent for your experiments. Also make sure to use light room effects presets and select light grain from that.

6. CAMERA RAW FILTER

This is the option given by photo shop cc. This version only enables you to use camera raw interface. You can do layer editing very fast using the photo shop. For that just go to layer then filter and select camera raw filter. These three simple steps will reach you to this wonderful option in which you can create amazing photos. And if you want to convert the camera raw filter into any time just follow these steps: use filter and convert the layer into the smart object and choose the convert for smart filters option for preventing destructive edits.

7. CAREFUL WITH APPLY LAYERS

While using apply layers option you have to be very selective. Adjustment layer is associated with layer mask which is its one of the feature. To hide the tweak parts use the steps which starts by selection of brush tool and then with its help just paint over the tweaked parts with black (also can apply cmd/ctrl +l) and after that just paint it white to reveal the tweak. These steps surely help you to nullify the effects of the tweak to certain parts of the image. This is quite a useful tip of photo editing.

8. KNOW ABOUT CAMERA AND LENS ADJUSTMENTS

Being a photographer you must have proper understanding of your camera and lens adjustment. There are some lessons about ACR and light room’s panel which you need to learn before involving in basic adjustments. You have the proper knowledge about the every setting of the camera.   Take this as example: checking calibration panel is necessary before making any changes in color and contrast.  In between, not forget to check lens correction tab and enable lens profile correction option. Most important you must have wide knowledge about the angle lenses, automatic lenses, etc. otherwise it might put some areas out of the frame. It will be a good option to check all these options before cropping any image for perfection.
