E-commerce waved at the world somewhere in 1971. It is a simple process of buying and selling although, it doesn’t require any physical presence of the buyer and seller in some store. Everything happens over internet, behind the screens.
It was a fascinating concept because with every passing year, life of an individual kept getting busy to busier. Then there came a time when no one had time to shop. Today, everything is simply available online. The revolution’s name is called e-commerce.
The genre has further advanced itself in many other formats such as social media selling and mobile selling and much more. Change is the nature of the world and it will keep happening. By far, the world has done incredibly well by bringing ease to our day to day living as much as possible.
Getting back to the topic of today which is E-Commerce, I hope that you all know by now how imperative the imagery is in this niche?
We have collected some data with example where we will make best attempt to let you understand the significance of great e-commerce imagery and how it can completely impair your sales-
- Sara the customer was looking for a party top. She picked few websites and open them simultaneously. The websites had great collections and amazing presentation. She shortlisted few websites and kept surfing the collections. Website A was a perfectly designed web store that contained all the big brands. It was a new website and was designed according to the latest trends. The categories were placed in a synchronized way and it was a perfectly structured website. The only flaw here was that it had poor images of the products. Some of the products had only one picture, with the front view. Some images were blurry and the quality was poor.
- There was website B which was a small website. The seller had very little merchandise to sell but the designs were amazing. It was a small simple website with beautiful pictures. When Sara clicked at the shortlisted products, she found that there were multiple images uploaded from the different angles and views. Also, with every product, there was a small video that shared all kinds of details about the product. It was very impressive.
Sara made her mind and quit website A because she wasn’t sure of the products. No wonder there was complete description of the product but the imagery was very disappointing. She not only liked the collection at website B but was very satisfied with the kind of confidence it gave her of making a safe purchase.
As you can see, it doesn’t matter how big your brand is but what really matters is how much confidence you boost in the buyer. They like staying safe with the purchases. The size and fit, elements like this can’t be challenged but even to make people surer of their purchase, you can upload multiple images with closer views, a picture of the fabric, the kind of sewing that is done and so on.
E-commerce can generate colossal business for you. Nowadays, it also needs massive investment as well. So when you are investing so much in an online business then don’t you think it is best to take every needed measure that can help in sale multiplication?
